Chopin Master Class

Wednesday, March 22, 2017, the Katy Music Teacher’s Association had the privilege of attending a Master Class on Frederic Chopin.  After the regular business meeting, Krume Andreevski (see bio below) presented a piano class with 3 of KMTA’s students.  All three girls were working on Chopin pieces.  Selections for the KMTA master class were: Waltz in a minor Op. Post, No. 17 performed by Jade Kamoun; Waltz in b minor, Op. 69, No. 2 performed by Janet Wu and Polonaise in A Flat Op. Posth. performed by Tiffany Zhang.  It was a very enjoyable and enlightening presentation.  Thank you to our 1st Vice President in charge of programs, Tobin Wright for organizing this master class.

 

Krume Andreevski holds piano performance degrees from he University of Houston (Doctorate), Lynn University (Masters) and Ss. Cyril and Methious University (Bachelors).  He has received many honors and won events in International Music Competitions.  Among these are: Interfest – Bitola, Macedonia, 2005 (1st Place); Ar Flores Concerto Competition, Ft. lauderdale, FL 2007 (1st place); Chautauqua Music Festival Piano Competition, Chautauqua, NY 2010 (2nd Place); Rovere d’Oro San Bartolomeo, Italy, 2000 (3rd Place); Vojislav Vuckovic, Belgrade, Serbia 2005 (2nd place).

Krume is a dedicated piano teacher and has given piano and music instruction in the Houston area since 2008.  He has worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Houston; as an adjunct music instructor at Lone Star College (North Harris); and as a music director in a private music school.
